Andorra la Vella is the capital of Europe’s sixth smallest country Andorra, as well as one of the top winter holiday destinations in Europe. What is it that attracts around 10 million visitors to this tiny little country every year? Probably the fact that it is home to some of the largest ski areas in the Pyrenees, as well as slopes suited to all levels of skiers, fantastic ski schools and great ski instructors, and not forgetting its vibrant apres-ski action and duty-free shopping……..all of this is the perfect cocktail for a great holiday experience.

All the roads from Andorra la Vella lead to the ski resorts in the area. Take the bus from the Andorran capital to Encamp and then jump on a gondola to Grandvalira or Vallnord ski areas. Alternatively, take a rest from the slopes and spend the day at Europe’s largest thermal spa, Caldea, which is located in La Vella. This is the place to go for a romantic break in Andorra or a day of pampering and well being. Alternatively, stock up on your tax free goods at some of the capital’s major shops; perfumes, tobacco, brandy, electrical appliances and jewellery can all be found. Andorra la Vella also has a number of interesting museums worth visiting such as the Ordino Museum of Miniatures and the Engordany Model Museum.

Andorra la Vella is a beautiful area which mixes the charm of its old Romanesque church of Sant Esteve and medieval bridge, La Margineda, with beautiful landscapes and more importantly its proximity to all the main ski areas in the country.

Perpignan PGF Airport is the nearest hub to Andorra la Vella (104 miles) and Toulouse TLS Airport is 115 miles away.
