Tignes is one the the French alps' top ski and snowboard resorts. It forms part of the L'Espace Killy which is a high altitude ski area (3,400m) with some 300km of ski slopes where good ski conditions and snow fall is guaranteed. Tignes covers all levels of skiing from beginners to professional with its 1992 olympic course and off-piste areas. There is also a half-pipe and boardercross course.

Tignes has three centers: Val Claret, Le Lac and Le Lavachet. Each has plenty of bars and restaurants.
